The bit assortment from Trust Equestrian provides gentle but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. We would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Eggbutt Bradoon French Bar from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail today:
The Trust Bit Sweet Iron Eggbutt Bradoon French Bar is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with smaller cheek pieces as a bradoon for a double bridle. The mouthpiece of this bit is a bar.
Bit Thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at its thickest point. This makes it a medium-thick mouthpiece.
Reference values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
Bradoons for double bridles usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed to create surface rust when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly controlled for quality.
Mouthpiece
Bar Bits
A bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A bar mouthpiece has a sharper effect than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheek Piece
Bradoon
The bradoon is used in combination with a curb bit. It is available in single-jointed and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g., eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a full centimeter larger than the curb bit, as the curb bit is a bar and the bradoon is jointed.
