Product description
Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Double Jointed 16mm 13.5
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimetres at its widest point. This makes it a medium-strength mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire Horses usually need a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to check how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
The bit range from Trust Equestrian provides soft but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Double Jointed 16mm 13.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Double Jointed 16mm 13.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with loose ring side pieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is double jointed. The mouthpiece has a width of 13.5 centimetres.
Bit Thickness
The mouthpiece size 13.5cm is usually ideal for smaller and normal warmbloods.
Sidepiece
Loose Ring
A loose running ring characterises a loose ring bit. A movable ring means greater mobility of the bit in the mouth. The Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Double Jointed 16mm 13.5 is therefore a bit for horses that prefer a more "mobile" bit in their mouth.
Mouthpiece
double jointed
Double jointed mouthpieces are suitable for many horses. This mouthpiece has two joints, is more shaped towards the mouth and sits a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit applies pressure to the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. The bit should not be used on narrow lower jaws. The hinge points can press on the bars, which can lead to sores. The double jointed bit applies more pressure to the tongue than single jointed bits.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits are designed so that surface rust forms when they come into contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
