The Waldhausen Baucher Bit EST solid is a Baucher bit, also known as a B-snaffle, Fillis, or Fillet bit. This bit is suitable for horses that are sensitive to poll pressure. It lies very quietly in the mouth and particularly encourages horses that carry their heads very high to lower them and become lighter in the poll. The B-snaffle strongly resembles a Pelham in the upper part of the bit, as, like with a Pelham, the cheekpiece is buckled in the upper, small ring. However, unlike a Pelham, the reins do not act on the bit via a lever and therefore exert hardly any pressure on the poll.
